Kay'ichiro
Nakahara,
Producer, Director, Composer
was born in Kyoto, Japan on July 16, 1963. After graduation from Waseda University, Tokyo Japan,
he started his career at NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), as a director of music program.
Through the twelve years in the largest TV network in Japan, he directed and produced every type of
music programs and concerts. He also produced many pieces of the theme music and the original sound tracks including works of his own
composition or arrangement. "Dancin' In The Round", one of such specially written songs for his program, came to be known in the
world as the grand closing theme of 1998 Nagano Olympic Winter Games.
Since he left NHK to be an free lance in 1999, he has expanded his working territory to cover any kind of music production like recording or live concerts, not being limited to broadcasting.
As a part time instructor at Waseda University, Nakahara has been giving lectures titled "Music And The Visual
Arts" since 1998.
